peaceful tees

you know i love my charity "excuse" to shop. the lastest trend i've seen are Signorelli's tees, each of which are created to give back to non-profit charities, such as:

OmniPeace
American Heart Association
Unicef Tap Project
Amnesty International

unfortunately, there aren't any stores in the DMV area for us to purchase them, but not to worry! the internet has got us covered. try Revolve Clothing or Couture Candy.

some of my favorite tees:

not just a bar...

if you're familiar with the adams morgan area, you'll know what i mean when i say, we've allllll had a few crazy, drunken nights at the bar Tom Tom (as well as several other places on the block ;). naturally, i'd love to divulge those highly entertaining tales of blue motorcycles and patron shots...but moving forward!
i've stumbled across a jewelry collection also called Tom Tom; just started in 2008, by self-taught jewelry designer, Elena Coleman. it's everything i could ask for in a jewelry line, vintage, handmade, and of course, chains and charms (my current jewelry kick). this current line focuses on nautical designs.

"sea" below for a few. heehee

crest button necklace

anchor earrings

absolutely ADORE him!

I'm telling you, the boy is amazing! he wakes up every morning and picks out his OWN outfits. NO JOKE! not only are they inventive, stylish and uber-cool, HE'S ONLY EIGHT! if there are such things as prodigy fashion designers...ladies and gents, we might be looking at the next Karl Lagerfeld.

to see the slideshow of some more of his fabulous outfits...check out the article here at: Style.com

fur-rocious

ok, not everyone is down with fur. so excuse me, if you're an animal rights activist. clearly...this blog ain't for you. but if you don't mind...im obsessed with it. (fox fur being my favorite). and im also obsessed with scarfs. so who better to turn to than matthew williamson, who's got me all psyched up for winter with his new fox fur scarfs. ::swoon:: yummmy!

where did all the classy women go?

if you're anything like me, you get tired of these celebrities that go out night after night flashing their vajayjay for the paparazzi, checking into rehab every other week and generally giving us no one to truly idolize. what happened to the females that came out of the house and actually CARED about the impression they made? what happened to the women that knew how to control the attention in a room, not because she a huge derriere or nice decolletage, but because of her demure confidence? its time to bring that girl back. Jordan Christy has written a book that examines the sad state that some women are in today and how to stand out as the classy, stylish, dare i say, "good girl" in a society where that seems to no longer be "cool". should be an interesting read.

join me!

picture this: shopping from 20 of the best boutiques in the DC at up to 80% off, hors d'oeuvres from the some of the best restaurants and free flowing drinks? oh yes, ladies, heaven does exist. its none other than the District Sample Sale - one of the coolest charity shopping events you can attend all year! how does it work? for a small entrance fee, all that i just listed is yours on September 16th in Georgetown. shop till you drop, while your purchases support this season's charity, the Rachel Women's Center.

i went last year to support the charity Kid Power organization and was apart of raising $24,000 for underprivileged children in the DC area. now its your turn...help homeless women in the DC area by doing what we do best...SHOP!

i bought my ticket...who's with me?

gimme Jimmy!

the new gold and silver studded, zebra printed, pony hair Jimmy Choo accessories have me drooling...see for yourself.

RIP - Naomi Sims

Naomi Sims was often known as the true "first black supermodel". She was the first black model to grace the cover of Ladies Home Journal; but she was also found in Times and Life magazines during a time of civil unrest, namely, the Civil Rights Movement. She broke numerous barriers and paved the way for people today like Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks. Have a moment of silence and remember her for her great accomplishments to the fashion world.
Read more about her in the New York Times article.
