what better way to jump start the new year than with the powerhouse of pop, fashion icon, Lady Gaga. i could gush about how much i adore her, buuuut, i think you'd rather just glance at the pictures of her rocking Lagerfeld, Jil Sander and Margiela, to see why she's so awesome.

Hu's clothes are those?

don't you just love georgetown boutiques? (yeah, i know...who doesn't?) anyone who's familiar with M Street can attest to the many stiletto-induced comas at the sight of Hu's Shoes. well it gets better, ladies and gentleman. Hu's shoes has now branched off to another store: Hu's Wear. as with many of the boutiques, it's a little pricey, but the objects of desire are to die for. not only that but recently, i've been hearing TONS of raves about how great the customer service is there. you can't ask for more than great clothes and great service. makes the shopping experience THAT much better. so sca-daddle your butts down to 2906 M St NW, if you haven't been by since their grand opening. ahem. what are you waiting for?

it's freeeeezing!!

so, i think it's finally time to admit that fall is officially over. we've seen our first snow already and let's just admit: running from the car to the club wearing our little mini dresses is becoming increasingly difficult. notice, i said difficult, not IMPOSSIBLE. cover up those sexy legs and arms in some of the hottest (but still cozy!) winter outerwear. and don't forget your elbow gloves, you classy bishes!

as technology continues to change and shape our world, we also find a million ways to damage it. sometimes it's better for us to get back to our roots. at a time when our environment is ever eroding, going green has been increasingly important. but just because we use recycled or vegan materials doesn't mean we have to look like hippies and hobos. susan woo's debut collection promises that us girls can still look sleek, sharp and saavy, while remaining friends with captain planet. win-win.

men love it because the girls are half naked. we love it because the opulent designs pranced up and down the runway. it get's no sexier than the annual victoria's secret fashion show. here are some of my favorite looks from the december 1st show.

for the nerdy boyfriend

somehow this watch looks like something the Mario Bros. would wear, if they indeed needed to tell time. its a throw back to old school graphics that i insist would be a hit with the guy that isnt necessarily "trendy".



i've been known to be a little bit of a tomboy myself, so if your boyfriend is anything like me, always wanting the latest and greatest gadget, he might like the touchscreen watches from Tissot. yes...you read correctly. touchscreen. and they've got a variety of colors and styles. they even have one for deep sea divers. ahhh, touchscreen for you scuba lovers. what will they think of next?

ok, so maybe we wont kick conservatism THAT far to the curb. i guess cynthia rowley's beaded, lacy embellished tights are a little too much for the office. but wolford tights continue to push the envelope without going too far. its all about adding a twinge of glam to your business suit. dressing the part without sacrificing your style. check out these super hot stockings, tights and dress socks.

have you ever bought yourself a pair of REALLY sexy underwear, not because you wanted to show off for your significant other, but because you just knew you would look good in it? ever wear it under that boring, conservative suit you're forced to wear to work? instantaneously, you feel sexy, even tho no one knows what you have on underneath. and let me tell you...that does WONDERS for your psyche all day. jenna leigh, a philly designer has an awesome collection of unmentionables that are all aimed at making you put the sex back into your underwear drawer. so throw those granny panties away! wait. you shouldn't own those anyway...

vintage shopping has become more and more of a craze as time progresses. the problem is, many girls don't know exactly how to find quality, vintage merchandise in hidden in the racks. enter melody fortier. her book "The Little Guide to Vintage Shopping" should be able to answer any questions you have and help you distinguish the difference what is truly a vintage item in comparison to a dress that's just 20 years old. and for those of you who want to enjoy a successful shopping trip with out all the reading, well its less than 200 pages and has lots of pictures. no excuses.

every girl is beginning to have a pair of wellies and we all know how i DESPISE being like everyone else. so when i stumbled across the Sorel website, the colorful rain/snow boots snatched my attention in a hurry. probably the best part was the mixing and matching of patterns...but on the website you can find even more to choose from: lime green knee-high wellies, "boots with the fur", and even heavy duty snow boots with grips on the bottom guaranteed to keep you from an embarrasing wipe-out in front of people as you cross the street.

can u tell christmas is coming? i've seen santa in the malls already and i think a couple places may even be playing carol-ish music. yup. its that time of year. and in honor of it, lets all put on our favorite jewelry...you know, the one's that look like christmas ornaments. maybe that's why i love them so much. i've always had a fascination with the big round orbs. in any case, throw it together with a little ribbon, lace and some chains and we have ourselves a winner.

so what are YOU wearing this fall/winter season? a lot of the styles have remained from last year (altho im highly against anymore liquid leggings) integrated with a couple new ones. one of my celebs that have been emulating my favorite look for fall: Amerie. her two latest videos "Why R U" and "Heard Em All" encompass the dark allure this season with seeds of luxury in the form of fur, chains, leather and sky high heels.
